*UPDATE*
Thank you to everyone that has donated to this fund. I have been given Amelia's blessing to update everyone. On late Friday evening on the 22nd of November, Nathan and Amelia became husband and wife and later celebrated their wedding in the comfort of their own home surrounded by their loved ones on Saturday 23rd of November, which was then followed by a gathering of friends, teammates, colleagues, loved ones who filled the streets to show their love for Nathan, Amelia and Noah.

On Sunday 24th November Nathan sadly passed away in his beloved wife Amelia's arms. Please keep sharing this page and spreading the love in memory of Nathan Summersgill-Smith.

*STORY*

We are reaching out far and wide to our rugby families and beyond for people to spare whatever you can to this fund. Nathan fell ill 5 weeks ago and has now been told (Thursday 21st November) that he has a stage 4 NUT tumour… and that ultimately there is nothing that can be done for him. Nathan is from Settle and has played rugby from the juniors, to the colts and then the men’s senior team at North Ribblesdale rugby club before going onto Colne and Nelson senior teams. Not only is Nathan a part of the rugby community, he is a serving royal marine.

His fiancé Amelia has been playing for North Ribblesdale Ladies team for a number of years now and captained them to become champions of NC3 last season. Noah their 2yr old son, has also played for North Ribblesdale rugby club…. In Amelia’s tummy when a knee injury from rugby turned out to be a pregnancy announcement.

A beautiful young family that is living their worst nightmare. After a summer to remember Nathan asked Amelia to marry him and what looked like an amazing future ahead for the 3 of them has now been turned upside down and now the reality is that this family is going to be torn apart sooner rather than later.

Please help this beautiful family make some final lasting memories together so that Amelia can cherish them for herself but also so she can share them with Noah in years to come.

Anything raised will help them do things together if/when Nathan is able to, whilst they can and the rest will go into a fund for Noah for his future.

Thank you for taking the time to read and spare anything you can for this beautiful family and a dear teammate & friend of ours at North Ribblesdale Ladies
