LAT Women’s Charity Fundraising
Donation protected
My name is Horeja Camara. I am trying to raise funds to help build a skills centre in The Gambia for women who never had a chance to go to school, or have had to leave for reasons out of their control. I know what it’s like not to have an education. A few years ago, I went to college to do some adult learning. This helped a lot. I raised my three children without being able to help them with their homework. I recently registed a charity called ‘LAT’. This means ‘refuse’ in Jola, my native language. We are saying no to the cycle of uneducated women and children. The skills centre will also be used to sensitise women and girls about domestic violence and sexual abuse. I would like to help them learn some skills like soap-making, tailoring, and other skills that might help them in the future, as well as reading and writing. Any educational materials will also be appreciated (books, furniture, sewing machines, stationary, etc).
We need your help to make a difference for the women and girls in our community, in a village in The Gambia called Batabut Kantora.
Help us to help them!
Thank you.
