LaTanya's Initiative: Youth Violence Prevention

Violence in Englewood and South Chicago is rampant

In response to the current situation, LaTanya and the Youth of Englewood plan to implement the Violence Prevention Project which will operate year-round and serve between 50 to 75 youth. Our project will provide a safe location for youth to meet daily after school and full days during out-of-school times and during the summer. During the program, youth will be involved in life skills workshops, participate in peace circles, attend various educational field trips, and work in teams to complete community projects. LaTanya and the Youth of Englewood Violence Prevention Project will offer Youth participants academic assistance, as well as social and emotional support.

A new site has been located for the youth center, the lease was signed and plans for moving in are going forward!!!!!
