Michael Munley is a unique driving talent that aspires to become a professional driver in NASCAR and IMSA and was recently approved by NASCAR to compete on road course in the Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series. Michael needs your help to make his dream come true.
Unlike many families of young drivers, we are not yet well known in the racing business yet and are not financially connected; we are just a couple of retired military veterans trying to get Michael to the next level. That’s where you come in. As a first step in his NASCAR national series career Michael is trying to raise enough money to fund a race weekend in the Xfinity series for the race at Watkins Glen, NY in August 2021. The goal of this weekend is to get Michael national visibility and hopefully catch the eye a top-tier race team looking for a very marketable talent. Here’s Michael’s story.
Michael has been infatuated with racing since he saw his first NASCAR race at the age of 5. Since then, he has become a student of the sport. He’s studied all aspects of racing and not only knows the cars and tracks but the science that goes into making a car go fast and a driver successful. His hard work, persistence and talent have made him a champion. In addition to track records, multiple Rookie of the Year awards and track championships in several classes in 2020 he won the V8 Road Racing Series Championship in the GTA. Michael is a proven winner.
Michael is not only a winner on the track but he’s also a tough hard-nosed competitor in life. After graduating with honors from high school he moved to Charlotte NC to pursue his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. What he had hoped to be a smooth transition to college life was anything but. Before he started his freshman year, Michael was diagnosed with a debilitating chronic disease that would have stopped any normal student and racecar driver due to the constant pain. But Michael Munley is no ordinary student or driver. Battling the disease throughout his freshman year Michael finally was able to get his condition under control, but since there is no cure Michael will live with a condition that can attack at any time and requires him to receive infusion treatments every 8 weeks to keep him in remission. Ever since his diagnosis Michael has hit the books and the track hard making it to his senior year and a shot at the NASCAR big time.
So, there you have it. Michael Munley is a great student, winning driver and all-around good person. He needs any help you can provide to get him on the track at Watkins Glen this August in the Xfinity series. Hopefully, with your generous support you’ll see Michael on the NASCAR Xfinity starting grid when you hear those famous words, “Drivers Start Your Engines.”
