Launch Revive Texas on UT's Campus

Hi, we are Revive Texas and we are an up-and-coming ministry at the University of Texas at Austin, seeking to serve all college students in the Greater Austin area.

Last spring, I (Nate Martin) was choosing between attending Texas A&M and UT. Luckily, I made the right choice, but the one thing that brought appeal to choosing A&M was Breakaway Ministries. Breakaway seemed to have an incredible unifying presence amongst the Christian community on A&M's campus. I noticed the lack of a similar ministry on UT's campus, though there were tons of other great ones, and the Lord put it on my heart to try to launch a ministry similar to Breakaway.

When I got to UT's campus this fall, I wasted no time and began putting together a team of like-minded individuals to help create a space like this at UT. We wanted to create a space that was unifying, neutral, safe for non-believers, and energizing to the Christian community at UT. We want to provide guidance and freedom to the multitudes of lost people on UT's campus while giving the found a space to come together and make a difference. We saw the model of Breakaway and knew it worked; they clearly had something special.

So the first thing we did was reach out to other ministries to hear their insight into how to go about starting this ministry. We went to Breakaway and were incredibly blessed with intense prayer, guidance, and support from their staff. We are incredibly grateful for their support for us and their willingness to answer some of our hard questions! We then turned to Vertical Ministries at Baylor, a similar ministry, and learned from them. We have a very strong relationship with Vertical and are beyond grateful for their support as well!

After hearing from them and other pastors and mentors in the Austin area, we spent an entire semester thoughtfully and prayerfully game-planning for how to go about setting up this ministry. We have decided that the best course of action for this ministry is putting on several preliminary events to set up the ministry before eventually ramping up to weekly meetings. This gives us time to secure our financing, staff, volunteer teams, infrastructure, and branding before we fully launch while also allowing us to build momentum and concept test our idea. The first of these events is going to be on Wednesday, April 12th at 9 PM. In order to secure the venue, environment, equipment, and various other expenses we will need to raise some money to allow us to get off of the ground. We would love to partner with you in advancing the gospel on the campus of UT! We would be eternally grateful for any financial support you may be able to provide. We do want to invite you into prayer for us and our mission regardless of whether or not you can financially support us at this time.

We are passionate about Austin students. Though not exclusive to UT students and open to all college students, our heart breaks specifically for UT's campus. We want all UT students to know that they have a creator who loves them and deeply desires an intimate relationship with them. We want to provide full transparency to you regarding our ministry if you choose to support us financially or through prayer. Thus, here are some of the core parts of our ministry:

Mission statement: Revive Texas exists for all college students to experience Jesus Christ and enrich their relationship with him.

Vision: 1) Energize, unify, and create momentum around the Christian community at UT.

2) Create an environment where all college students, in any stage of faith, are exposed to the gospel and biblical preaching.

3) Empower students to get connected with the local church.
