Launch Ypsi Bloom Studio, Gallery, & Shop
Donation protected
Hello!
Amanda May here—a local artist who was born and raised here in Ypsilanti is looking to partner up with Alexandria of Boho Haze Clay to open a studio! This space would be a dream come true because it involves all of our favorite things:
1. Art
2. Community
3. Teaching art!
The vision is to have a communal space for open studio hours available Monday-Saturday, 11 am-7 pm (shortened hours on Sundays) with a membership. Workshops taught by myself, Alexandria, and various local artists in the community—which will offer a wide range of learning opportunities. Our gallery will host local art shows based on themes. Additionally there would be a shop of local art (don’t worry—we’ll keep it different from our neighbors). Speaking of neighbors! We wish to work and collaborate on creating events that support one another. Especially being that we know a cool shop owner who happens to sell the best art supplies!
Other opportunities we wish to offer would include a space for a writers’ club, book club, knitting circle, or whatever it may be! We’d like to create space in the gallery for groups to meet and gather. So, community! We want to see the community and create a cozy space for everyone to enjoy.
Funds will be used to help us pay the security deposit and have at least 6 months of rent available for us to ensure that we can get things running without any worry of needing to make an immediate return. We also would like to be sure that we have security cameras, insurance, and all the other little nitty gritty things we may still have yet to discover.
To be a part of the Ypsi landscape downtown is a dream! Please help us realize this so that we may provide great opportunities for all!
Goal is to be officially open for First Friday, May 3rd! All donations are so very much appreciated. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to create a makers space to meet the needs of so many local artists!
