However, it was on a quiet trail ride in Toowoomba with her friend, just minutes away from their home, when her life took a devastating turn. In a heart-wrenching incident, a truck driver recklessly accelerated, passing them at high speed. The sheer terror of the moment caused her horse to react instinctively, spinning and bolting in fear. Laura's foot was caught in the stirrup, shattering bones in her foot before she was finally freed and landed on her arm, breaking her arm as well. Laura was trapped on the road for a harrowing 40 minutes until the ambulance finally arrived.

Laura's journey to recovery is an uphill battle that demands multiple surgeries to restore her to full health. With distal radius fracture of the forearm, broken leg and crushed foot requiring 18 pins, this tragic incident has left her bedridden without assistance, unable to work, struggling to care for her beloved horse, and even provide for her own basic needs. The financial burden of her extensive medical bills adds to the weight of her predicament.
