Laura Deutsch Memorial Fund for Child Literacy
Donation protected
On March 22, 2019 a bright light in this world was extinguished as Laura Mae Deutsch lost her life at the young age of 51.
Laura Mae Deutsch was a mother of three and a teacher to many more. From a young age she was one of the lucky ones who discovered her passion early and followed it with vigor throughout her life. Her path in life was to be a teacher and more importantly to touch the lives of hundreds of children, if not more. Every child that came across Laura's path left her for the better. Her passion and willingness to always learn more even at the age of 51 was what inspired those around her to follow suit.
Laura forever stressed the importance of reading and focused early on it as she read countless books to her students over the years. Teaching was her passion but, raising children's literacy one child at a time was her dream. Sharing the magic of books and the worlds one could enter through the power of words was something Laura treasured throughout her life.
This fund has been established in her name with the goal of raising $5,000 to donate to the betterment of children's literacy in the tri- city area school districts of Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles where she worked, lived, shared many memories and impacted the lives of those around her.
May her memory live on and her passion continue to pour through with the help of this fund, maybe she can achieve her dream. Raising child literacy one kid at a time.
