Laura & James Fertility Preservation Donation

Donation protected
Laura was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of this year.

James and Laura were talking about starting a family in the near future just before she found out.

Laura isnt just my best friend and sister. She's also my business partner. Our business is still new and because of that she doesn't have health insurance. We are working towards it but we aren't there yet. Her husband works for a small business as well and his insurance only covers their employees. She applied for Charity Care thru atlanticare and it took over a month to get approved but she did and she was able to start treatment finally.

She had surgery on November 14th to remove the cancer and 80% of her breast tissue. She has to go thru chemo, radiation and another surgery which will be a full double mastectomy and reconstruction. During a full CT scan which came back all good, they did find a terratoma on her ovary which will need to be removed after her treatment.

Because Laura has to go thru chemo her cancer team suggested they do fertility preservation as she may now not be able to have children once all her treatment is done.

Having a child of there own is very important to Laura and James and they deserve to have that opportunity. Cancer has taken quite a few things from them already and I for one am tired of seeing them go thru all this.

Laura applied for a grant thru Livestrong which she recieved but it only covers a portion of the preservation. They still need to come up with $6,000 for the egg freezing procedure and everything that goes with that, like tests, ultrasounds medicine and storage of her eggs which is another $500 every 6 months. With everything going on money is already tight and the holidays being here makes that even harder. James and Laura have talked about just not going thru with the process because of the cost which is not covered at all by charity care.

With your help Laura and James will have the help they need to possibly start a family after her treatment. I know the holidays are here and if you cant help thats okay but if you can it would mean the world to them. If you cant please share with friends and family. Unfortunately this process has to happen quickly Laura starts chemo in January. Im asking for $10,000 to give them a few years of storage as well.

If we exceed our goal amount anything over will help them with bills and expences they have while Laura is going thru treatment.
