Laura Nadel-Unexpected Medical Costs

Hello! My name is Lindsay and I am fundraising for a wonderful person, Laura Nadel. In November of 2022, Laura suffered a dissection (a tear in aortic lining) and spent several days in the hospital until stable. Fortunately Laura did stabilize and planned to have surgery later in the year. Unfortunately, while attending a music festival in Austin, Texas, Laura suffered from a second dissection on 4/28/2023. This required emergency open heart surgery. Not only is this a very risky procedure, but it happened hundreds of miles from her home in Santa Cruz, where her friends, family and cats could be there to help her. Along with the mounting medical bills, this created unexpected costs such as emergency ambulance transport, hotels/accomodations, travel for family and friends to fly out to help, Ubers, sending out belongings such as clothes, and ordering meals.

Laura has a long journey of healing ahead of her, and will also need support in many forms, including financial support. Laura has given countless hours and finances supporting her community, and deserves more than anyone to have her community support her back. Please give whatever you can/are able.
