Let's help Laura get into a new apartment

Hi everyone! My name is Dave and I am setting up this Go Fund Me page to help out a dear friend.

Let's help Laura get into a new safe place for her and her son!

My friend Laura is on a fixed budget due to having Huntingtons Disease. Huntington's Disease is a hereditary brain disease marked by degeneration of the brain cells and causing chorea and progressive dementia.

A couple months ago Laura received a government grant to pay her rent for a year. She needed that as she is on a fixed income. The current landlord refused the check from the grant. Then expected the rent with no notice from Laura.

During the last couple months she has suffered harassment and threats from landlord, an oil leak in the basement which was blamed on her by the landlord, loss of heat and numerous other things that have stressed Laura out to the point that her Huntington Disease has been creating more issues for her.

I'd like to help Laura come up with the funds to help her move into a new apartment. She does have a teenage son who she shares custody of.

There was an oil spill 11/22 that her belongings in the basement got ruined.

Laura has been looking for places, getting on lists….has a few “2nd choice” places but is waiting to hear Monday or Tuesday about a few. Laura is thinking about what to worry about next if she gets it. Anthony has been on a daybed in the living room for 8 years. He shares a room at dads house. Laura is so excited he will have his own space and with driving soon can come whenever he wants, and its close to friends. She will need a few grand for deposit/first month. She has been saving but she needs some stuff also. (couch, TV Desk kitchen table) Those things are not a huge deal but she wants to get Anthony at least a few things for his room etc. She will need to go do a massive grocery shopping etc.

She had 800$ worth of work on her car last week and her mechanic has tires brakes and routers on order for this week. Her birthday is in a few weeks so she will need to register and inspect the car....etc.
