Laura Reese with Emergency Medical

Hello, my name is Kylee Luna, Laura Reese's cousin. On Saturday, July 8th me and Laura were being pulled on an intertube by a boat. We got slung into a tree at 40 mph. We were life flighted to Hermann Memorial. Laura has a brain bleed, broken hip/pelvis, broken femur, and her spine is broken in severeal places. She was put into a medically induced coma and intubated for the meantime. Today, July 9th, she had surgery to fix her femur. She will have another surgery tomorrow if her body can handle it and possibly several more after that. She is only 18 and does not have medical insurance. She has a very, very long recovery ahead of her. Please considering donating if you have anything to spare and we thank you SO so much. A special thank you to everyone who saved us both. We are lucky to be alive, it's a miracle.

Ps, im sorry if this isnt the best explanation or typing, and I'm sorry if I dont get to everyone's questions. I have a grade 4 concussion, stitches, and half of my face is swollen like a balloon. So bare with us both pretty please ❤️ thank you all so much.

UPDATE: Memorial Hermann wouldn't give Laura antibiotics the same way they wouldnt give them to me. Despite being in the dirty, brackish, bayou water with tons and tons of bacteria. Last night her blood pressure dropped way down low and now they don't believe she is a good canidate for her 2nd surgery. They believe she is developing pneumonia in her lungs from the bayou water. (She was face down in the water after we hit the tree) They are going to pump the sludge out of her lungs and she is now on 3 different antibiotics and some blood pressure medicine. Please send extra prayers this way. This isn't what we wanted to hear.

UPDATE 2: Laura was a little less sedated for a very short time today. She nodded her head to answer some questions and even recognized a friend. Thank you all for the prayers, shares, and donations. Your kindness is working wonders for her. Thank you guys SO SO much ❤️

UPDATE 3: Laura had a successful pelvis/hip surgery yesterday and she is doing well! She is still intubated and we aren't sure when they will take it out just yet. However, before her surgery they woke her up, had her move her fingers, toes, and stick her tongue out. She did all of the above! She is doing very good and we look forward to keeping these good updates coming yalls way. Thank you again everyone for all of the love and support ❤️
