Hi Family and Friends, As most of you know, Laura went in to the hospital Friday morning with abdominal pain. After being in the ER all day she finally had a CT done and they discovered she had a blockage in her small intestines. She went in for “Emergency” surgery early Saturday morning. Everything was routine and she tolerated surgery well. As the day went on she had some bloating in the abdomen but the nurses felt that was normal. By 3am Sunday morning her blood pressure dropped very low and began having respiratory issues an emergency response team was called in. The doctor examined her and determined She had become sepsis due to a rupture of the intestines and leakage in the abdominal cavity. She went back in for a second Emergency surgery, where they repaired the intestines and washed her out. She was placed on a ventilator and heavily sedated and sent to the Critical Care Unit where she is currently at. She has had some progression since Sunday and not sepsis any longer, however she is still on the ventilator until the doctor decides she is well enough to come off. We are asking for prayers of healing and strength for her and the family. Her husband and Children along with all of her grandchildren have been at the hospital around the clock. If you are able to we are asking for donations to help with the hotel they’ve rented tor Timmy to shower at, food, gas back and forth to the hospital as they all stay an hour away. We know this will eventually begin to cause hardships on everyone and trying to help anyway we can!
