Laura Neumann’s Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Laura was on vacation in Moab for Easter Jeep Safari this past week. On Sunday the 14th, she was on the Golden Spike Trail. During one of the obstacles, she was run over by a Jeep and life flighted to the hospital in Grand Junction. Laura has suffered severe trauma from this accident. She has had multiple MRIs over the past few days showing several fractures in the lower extremities including a compound fracture to the left leg with multiple surgeries with at least one more to follow. Time will tell if the remaining tissue will heal from the compound fracture being exposed. She might have to have skin grafts and plastic surgery in the future.
Laura will remain in the Grand Junction hospital for several of weeks which is 512 miles away from home. Being from Elko, NV this is long distance for family and friends. Laura was healthy and very active before this accident. She has a long recovery ahead of her and will continue to have a long rehabilitation, OT/PT treatments, house modifications and developing needs as she progresses through her recovery.
Thank you for the supportive thoughts and prayers as well as the kind donations during this healing process for Laura. She is mentally strong and determined to get better. All the love and support from her friends and family is helping her the most. Laura loves being in an outdoor setting so let’s help get this amazing, loving, lady back to doing what she loves most! I will try to give current updates of Laura on here.
