Laureate House Mother & Baby Garden
Donation protected
Whilst myself and Ivy are inpatient at Laureate House Mother and Baby (Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester) I would like to work on their neglected garden with the help from other mothers and ward staff.
The unit is run by the NHS, therefore money and resources are few and far between, so the garden has been a second thought.
It relies on items (plants, seed, compost garden & tools ect) and money been donated to ensure its up keep.
I am passionate about the health benefits that gardening, horticulture and spending time in nature can bring and hope to make the garden a haven for mothers, babies, ward staff and of course nature.
Lets get smiles on peoples faces, nectar for the pollinators, get the birds singing at the feeders and splashing in a bird bath.
Many thanks
Emilie and Ivy

She is absolutely perfect, healthy and gorgeous in every way and we are so in love
Me on the other hand is not.
Ivy and I are in the care of a wonderful mother and baby unit in Manchester getting some much needed R&R and professional support.
The physical and mental toll over the past week has been indescribable and I am emotionally exhausted.
It's been a high risk pregnancy due to pre eclampsia and on Saturday of last week we began a dreadfully long and painful induction followed by a severe and traumatic haemorrhage needing a blood transfusion.
There's too many things to note but we feel the delivery of our beautiful baby girl and the after care I received wasn't handled well and as a result I've been having major panic attacks which we now know present as epileptic seizures, hallucinations, insomnia and a relapse in ME/CFS symptoms.
I would like to thank my amazing husband Arran Woodford who has batted my corner. He is making the five hour long round trip to Manchester to check in on his girls.
Thank you also to my amazing family, you all know who you are and the mental health crisis team at York who listened to my needs and ensured I got the best care moving forward.
It really is the best place for us to address my ongoing underlying and perinatal mental health issues, including possible causes, treatments and support options.
Fast forward a few weeks and I can't wait for the day we can all be at home together as a family.
I want to share my experience and reach our to others to help break the stigma of mental health. Just because a person ‘looks ok’ it doesn’t mean that they are
