Laurel Hansen's Medical Recovery

Greetings Friends!

Thank You for your Kind, Thoughtful, and Generous Support! Your contributions allow Laurel and me to sustain our efforts to recover her health and wellbeing. I have been on work leave since mid-September to care for Laurel and get her to medical appointments.

Laurel has been diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) by her Neurologist Dr Carol Henricks at NorthStar Neurology. Dr Henricks ordered a Neuro Quant MRI (without contrast) for Laurel's brain, the results of which led to this diagnosis. The cause of her TBI is not known. Possible sources include, a 2018 vehicle accident, Pete's powerful dog-yank while lunging at passing coyotes, and Vaccine Injury? What we do know is that Dr Henricks looked Laurel in the eye, and after informing her of the TBI diagnosis, said, "you can RECOVER" from this devastating condition with Oxygen Hyperbaric Therapy (HBOT).

Dr Henricks suggested that we purchase our own HBOT. With your help, I have done this and we have it set-up, and operational! The HBOT therapy will require time and patience. We are currently on "Dive # 23,” and working our way up to full pressure (4.2 psi = 1.3 atm) and time (60 min) daily. We are treating Laurel slowly, as the HBOT therapy generates a powerful Detox response. This is ultimately good, as the toxicity must be eliminated for recovery.

Additionally, Laurel is getting Physical Therapy to begin movement and recovering her strength slowly. We’re getting Laurel outside for sunshine and air too!

Again, Laurel's recovery will require time and patience. We are three quarters of the way to our fundraising goal and hoping to make it all the way. Thank You for your continued Love & Support for this Urgent effort!

Laurel Hansen is a vibrant, lively, active artist, friend and partner...until she was no longer able to be those things.

Doctors have not yet been able to diagnose Laurel's illness. Under investigation: Long Covid, heavy metals, mold or some combination of those, which have impacted her nervous system causing severe pain, muscle spasms, brain fog and other symptoms. In health, Laurel swam about 3000 yards a day and supported herself as an artist. Today she is unable to get up from bed and walk to the bathroom unassisted. Her friends and family are determined to get her back in the pool, back in her art studio, and back to her old self.

Laurel's obamacare does not cover investigation of the underlying cause of her symptoms. It only covers doctors who will give her pain pills and send her home, however, she has had severe allergic reactions to the pain pills and cannot take them. Laurel's partner, Mike, has left his job to care for Laurel full time, and they are now incurring debt to have Laurel properly diagnosed and cured.
