Lauren Beck's Leukemia & Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dr. Samantha Shebib and I'm a professor in communication at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Lauren was a previous student of mine, where she took 3 classes of mine within the first 2 years of my employment at UAB. Lauren graduated in the Spring semester of 2023. On August 27th, 2023, Lauren was experiencing some symptoms and went to emergency room in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (where her family resides). By Monday, August 28th she was transferred to UAB hospital. After having a bone marrow biopsy, Lauren was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. She has started 24/7 chemotherapy treatment to see how aggressive the blood cancer is.
Unfortunately, she is in need of a bone marrow transplant. Her family faces unexpected challenges as Lauren was diagnosed. Financial strain worsened by student loans, inability to work, and medical costs. Thus, we are seeking support to ease financial burden and cover medical expenses. Your help and compassion are crucial in this fight against leukemia. I kindly request your generous contribution and support during these tough times. Every contribution is a helping hand for Lauren's well-being right now.
Lauren is the kindest soul you'll ever encounter. She puts everyone's needs before her own and it's time we do what she would do--everything we can to help out. No matter the dollar amount, every penny will go directly to her medical bills and will help substantially.
Thank your time and contribution.
