Lauren Marotta’s incredible courage to fight!

I am writing this on behalf of my cousin Lauren Marotta, formerly Lauren Gerardo, and her family, Chris, Angelo and Adrianna. Lauren has been battling an extremely rare form of Leukemia for several years with gratitude, strength, and humility that has been nothing short of remarkable and inspiring. Lauren has been in and out of remission, has undergone extensive chemotherapy treatments, has spent weeks and months within the hospital away from her family and has undergone a bone marrow transplant procedure from her big brother Michael. This long hard battle has never taken the smile off her face during these incredibly difficult times.

Immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday this year Lauren became severely ill while she was preparing for further treatment regarding her leukemia down in Houston Texas. Lauren has been diagnosed with a form of Bacterial Meningitis placing her into a coma. Currently, Lauren is in the hospital undergoing extensive treatment trying to fight this terrible disease concurrently with her cancer battle showing positive signs of her tremendous strength each day. This diagnosis has been a major setback in her long fight against Leukemia. With love from family, friends, and from God, Lauren’s unmatched strength and will to fight will get her through this.

If you know Lauren you know how inspiring, laid back, passionate, and humble she is. Lauren’s strength and bravery is extraordinary and has personally changed each one of us for the better. Lauren is a proud mother, and wife, and has a beautiful family of which is her world. Please help Lauren and her family Chris, Angelo, and Adrianna get through this incredibly difficult time and the long recovery road ahead.
