Lauren Memorial Cycle, Malin to Mizen

Hello all!

As you can see from our heading, we are organising a fantastic event in September for a small group of friends in Co Limerick, who are all keen cyclists & have had a bucket list idea for some time.

Very sadly one of our friends on this cycle, Niall McGrath and his family lost their beautiful 16-year-old daughter Lauren last year to Cancer.

Lauren battled Cancer on five occasions before sadly losing her battle in 2022. She had to deal with epilepsy as well as an amputation to her leg but battled bravely until the end.

The charities, Cliona's Foundation and Little Blue Heroes were a huge source of comfort and help to Niall and his family throughout Lauren’s illness.

This cycle was organised, to help fundraise for these worthy charities that provide so much assistance to families throughout their child’s illnesses and all money raised from the cycle will be split evenly between those incredible charities.

On September 16th we will start our cycle from Malin head to Mizen head, a total of 665km over 6 days.

We will have 16 cyclists doing the full cycle, with the aim to have friends join us along the route when they can, our full trip will be funded by ourselves including the purchase of the jersey, the donations we receive will go directly to the charities, nothing will be used to pay for our event.
