Lauren Robinson Benefit Fund

**Update 06 August 2020**
Sadly last night at approximately 11pm Lauren passed away at the hospice. Although I wasn't there I know that she went peacefully and is no longer suffering. Rest peacefully my love.
**Update 06 July 2020***
Sadly this week not only was I made redundant from work but we also found out that Lauren's cancer has progressed and has now infiltrated her bone marrow. We were dealt the devastating blow that this means it's time to ensure Lauren has her affairs in order as they aren't sure how much longer she'll have with us. Without life insurance and having lost our only source of income, our fundraising efforts and hitting our target is more important now than ever to help us navigate through this most horrendously difficult time without the added stress of finances and keeping the roof over our heads. There is a full update in my last update post.

Original post from launch in 2019
Lauren is my soul mate and as a husband and a father I felt compelled to do something in light of our devastating news.
Sadly Lauren has recently found out that despite a hard fought battle against breast cancer 18 - 24 months ago, that the disease has unfortunately spread and that she now has an incurable secondary cancer that means she’ll be taken before her time.
So we don’t know how long she’ll have, but, at only 30, however long it is, it’ll never be the life that we dreamed of having with our wonderful daughter Molly.
There’s so much that we’d like to do as a family and now with less time to do it, the only thing getting in the way is money. So in an attempt to try and do all of the things that we’ve wanted to do and see the places that we’ve wanted to see I’m reaching out for the generosity of others.
I’ve started this in the hope that it helps and would be eternally grateful for all donations regardless of size and even if you can’t help financially then sharing this for us would also be amazing.

******* Update *******
Following a strong start to our campaign, I thought it would be a good idea to help people to understand some of the things we're aiming for...
Financial Support
As Lauren's condition progresses we can't be sure as to how healthy she'll be, like a lot of people we live to our means and have no savings, so if the need arises it would difficult for me to give Lauren the support required as I need to stay in work to pay our bills and keep a roof over our heads.
Making Memories
Since Lauren's diagnosis we've enquired about travel insurance and the quotes are coming in at over £1500 per trip and so the fundraising will help to make sure we can go on some dream trips to have some never forget moments that we'd always planned to do.
A family trip to Walt Disney World, this is one of the top things on our list. Orlando is one of our favourite places and we've always talked and been excited about taking Molly there, as she's getting older she is falling in love with Disney too and it would mean so much to be able to share a memorable trip there as a family.
One of Lauren's best friend's lives in Australia and has a daughter a similar age to Molly. We'd always planned to visit them and for our daughters to meet one another and so this is also high up the list of things we'd like to do.
This is why the target is set high, not because we necessarily have aspirations to meet it, or because we think we ever will but more so that we can keep the fund alive for as long as possible. The more support that we receive the easier it will be to manage and will mean that through the hardest of times we don't have to worry about finances too.
