Mission Fund for Lauren Camilleri

Lauren is scheduled to graduate from Juanita High School in June 2015.  She has been accepted to BYU Idaho where she will study political science; however, has made the decision to first serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS or Mormon)!  

Lauren is very excited to have been called to serve the Nevada Las Vegas West mission and has spent her whole life looking forward to this journey.  I've created this fundraiser to help pay for her mission, as well as to help with purchasing the necessary items she'll need before she leaves July 15th.  If you aren't a member of the LDS faith and don't understand what a mission is, no worries! Missions are not required.  Lauren has chosen this path. We're happy to share more about the experience if you'd like or simply ask that you consider donating to help her, understanding that this is an exciting opportunity and important step in her individual growth as she looks forward to helping others.

Lauren will serve for a period of 18 months.  During this time, she will be able to keep in touch with family and friends via email and the good ole' U.S. Postal Service. Phone and Skype calls are allowed to her family on Christmas and Mother's Day only.   The funds will help cover rent and other bills, as well as groceries and other necessary items she will need while serving. Missionaries live very simply.  They don't have TV, internet, phones or computers as not to be distracted from spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.   A little bit will go a long way!
