Lauren's Fight Against Cancer

Here's Lauren's story:

The first week of January, quickly went from the most exciting time in life, being a fairly new mom of two precious babies, to the scariest time of my life! I‘ve had some time to process, but it’s still hard to type/say the words sometimes. At the beginning of January, I was diagnosed with Triple negative breast cancer, stage 3C. It has spread to several lymph nodes. My new normal has quickly gone from wrangling two kiddos to endless amounts of Dr. Appointments and now chemo treatments for the next 6 months. I‘ve been faced with things like weaning my son way before we were ready, cutting my hair short to ease my kiddos into me losing my hair, getting use to the idea that my kiddos may not have 110% of me for the next year or so. It’s all been so difficult and such a whirlwind. On the up side, I’ve also had endless amounts of support and love and prayers coming my way as well. As overwhelmed as I’ve been with the bad stuff, I am equally as overwhelmed with wonderful family and friends who unconditionally love me and my sweet family. For that I can never be grateful enough. In the beginning I wondered why me? I can now see that I am strong enough to meet this challenge and when I come out on the other side stronger than before, I vow to use my experience to help other women someday. For now, I take it one day at a time and try to find any speck of light I can in what seems to be very cruel darkness. My kiddos, sweet husband and endless amount of support from loved ones, help give me light every single day! I will make it and I will be better for it in the end. So now I fight!
