Lauren Quinlan's Medical Test Fund

With consent, I have set up this GoFundMe page to assist the Quinlan family raise funds for a medical test for their 15 year old daughter, Lauren.
Lauren has been battling chronic pancreatitis since she was three years old. She has been in and out of several different hospitals over her lifetime trying to find the correct way to treat her condition. Over the last few weeks she has been in severe pain and can’t eat. This evening, Wednesday, February 24th, she was yet again admitted into Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Her current team of doctors want to conduct a test to assist them in figuring out the next steps. Their hope is to do an Islet Cell Transplant – which takes cells from the pancreas and transplants them into the liver. Then they would remove the pancreas and hopefully the liver would function as both.
Unfortunately, the insurance company has refused to pay for the test to see if this is even possible. The out of pocket cost for the test was quoted as $3,488.00. Clearly this is a big hit financially and the family is humbly requesting help.
Will you please consider donating any amount, big or small, to help Lauren get the test she deserves. She is vibrant teenager and deserves to live a pain free, healthy life!!
