Lauren's AKA Debutante Fund

Hello, my name is Lauren Curtis and I am the daughter of Shana and Raymond Curtis. I am honored to inform you that on Saturday, November 20, 2021, I, along with 16 other young ladies will be formally introduced to society as “Poised and Polished Pearls” Debutantes in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Xi Upsilon Omega Chapter Debutante Cotillion. This is the 19th biennial Debutante Cotillion and will be held virtually on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 7 p.m. I am asking for your financial support as I begin this exciting journey to become Miss Debutante 2021. Each debutante receives 50% of all money earned through fundraising efforts which goes toward my college scholarship.

I am a rising senior at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC. I plan to go to college following a pre-med track to obtain a career in the medical field as a surgeon or dermatologist. I have been a dancer since the age of 3 and I will continue the study of dance until I finish High School in 2022. I am naturally reserved, but I am filled with humor and kindness. I am a very dedicated and reliable young lady who is committed to family, friends, church, academics, and serving my community. I love writing, experiencing nature and traveling. Additionally, I have a renewed passion in developing and growing in my spiritual journey.

At Duke Ellington, I maintain a GPA of 3.7 or higher. I take full responsibility to excel academically while balancing my art of dance. I have received numerous awards as an honor roll student which I have maintained since 9th grade. This summer, I will focus on preparing for my senior year, attending my Debutante workshops and contributing to my community.
