Laurie Bloomquist Memorial
Donation protected
Updated words courtesy of the Bloomquist family:
A few days ago, Laurie Bloomquist was tragically killed in a horrific car accident involving 7 cars in Mountain Home, Idaho. We also lost her sister, Lisa, and her 8-month old nephew Milo.
Laurie Bloomquist was an incredibly faithful, genuine, passionate, loving, intelligent and caring sister. She loved her frequent visits from Portland to Boise to be with her little nephew Milo and his parents Lisa and Dan. She was an avid adventurer who loved traveling the world with her sister Amy. The two of them recently returned from a trip to Greece together.
She was an incredible animal lover. She lost her puppy children Gus and Ruthie in the accident. She leaves behind her two sweet kitties and horse Gabe who is boarded here in Boise and whom she has had for 20 years.
Her life in Portland was treasured by many. One of her fellow counselors had these kind words to say about her:
“She was an incredible teacher and loving mentor. She was an irreplaceable force for good in the community and her impact on clients, friends, students, church family and colleagues was vast. Laurie often used her brilliant mind in the service of others, and had big ideas to continue bringing quality counseling services to children in Portland.”
We are asking for financial help in closing this chapter of Laurie's beautiful life. All funds donated will go directly to the Bloomquist family to assist with her memorial and funeral costs. Laurie was recently in the beginning stages of creating a non-profit center focused on counseling and mental health services for youth. Any donations exceeding immediate expenses will be faithfully extended to honor Laurie's memory and ensure that her horse Gabe is cared for.
