Laurie Marie's Healing Journey
Donation protected
Dearest Community,
We all know Laurie Muniz from different chapters of her life. Some of us have known her since childhood or adolescence and have grown up alongside her. Some folks may recall seeing her big smile light up a room at Stage7 School of Dance or Grossmont College. Many of us have had the privilege of sharing a stage with her, collaborating and creating with her, or being taught by her. Others have mentored her, prayed with her, and poured into her activism, artistry, and faith. And while we may have crossed paths with her at different times for different reasons, it is in this moment of her life that she is in the greatest need of us, her collective familia.
Since early 2023, our friend, sister, and fellow artist had been on a quest for answers regarding her physical health. After months of visits to medical professionals, she was diagnosed with Stage 1 -2 cervical cancer. This stage of cervical cancer is treatable, so Laurie will undergo treatment over the next few months.
Unfortunately, Laurie’s condition has impacted her ability to safely continue working and her treatment will demand the prioritization of rest to ensure proper healing. As many of you know, she and her husband, Andrew, are working artists. Their home is supported by their combined income generated through their art. Andrew will be her primary caregiver, which means he, too, will step away from his main sources of income to commit to Laurie’s healing.
Because of this, their finances will be scarce. This is where we, as their community and familia, have the opportunity to support them and show them that they are not alone in this fight.
With your contributions, we aim to help cover the cost of their medical expenses, cancer treatment, holistic treatment, and household needs (rent, bills, food, etc.) over the next 6 months. Every contribution is tremendously helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration, contributions and continued support.
*Important note for your consideration: transaction fees, including credit and debit charges (3% processing fee), and .30 cents (GoFundMe fee) are deducted from each donation. We ask you to consider these fees when donating to ensure Laurie and Andrew receive your contributions in full.

Thank you, familia, for your selflessness and support. We appreciate all your love, healing words, and prayers. We are grateful and blessed to have you in our lives.
Many abrazos ,
