Law, the Gentle Giant-Double Shoulder Surgery Help
Donation protected
We’re Decker and Gina, puppy parents to the best boy, Law. Law is the sweetest Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff), he’s known to be a gentle giant and very well behaved.
Law was recently diagnosed with OCD (osteochondritis dissecans), an inflammatory condition that occurs when diseased cartilage separates from the underlying bone. Unfortunately for Law dog, he was diagnosed in BOTH shoulders. Because of his diagnoses, Law has developed lameness in his legs, which if not treated will lead to arthritis, as well as lameness and pain, and will require more aggressive surgery later in his life. Law walks with a limp in his front legs and is incredibly stiff upon standing up; at times he is so sore all he can do is whine. Imagine feeling tight and sore getting out of bed, but being a child and wanting nothing more than to play – that’s Law’s everyday.
Law is only 6 months old and weighs about 95lbs, and is projected to double in size as an adult. Due to his size and expected growth, the surgery required to correct Law’s condition is vital for him to resume normal puppy activity and avoid worsening health concerns.
We’re asking for help with Law’s surgery, medication, recovery and board costs for his procedure. We want nothing more than for Law to be back in action by Summer time. Law is being deprived of daily activity due to his condition. If you’ve had the opportunity to meet our Sweet Boy, you know he loves socializing, he has an incredibly chill demeanor and wants, so badly, to get back to enjoying his happy puppy life, which consists of LOTS of playing with his doggy friends. Law’s recent diagnosis has been extremely devastating for him, us – his owners, and his canine/human friends, alike.
Law’s surgery, to avoid worsening his condition has been scheduled for the end of February 2021, in Malvern, PA with Dr. Scott Roberts at HOPE veterinary specialists. Anything helps and we thank you, so much, in advance – Law and his family greatly appreciate your donations!
