Lawny Built A Foundation and then his life was taken…

On Friday, February 2, 2024, Lawny chose an action that was heroic, one that was for the good of all of us. Unfortunately, he and his family had to fight a horrible battle because of it.

As Lawny was waiting to receive his order at a Papa Murphy’s, he witnessed someone stealing from them and chose to speak up and say something. The couple left and drove away, however shortly after, they returned. As Lawny left the building his assailant was waiting for him outside, an altercation took place, and Lawny was stabbed. He made his way to his car and called his wife, Laura, telling her to call 911.

Lawny, who chose to stand up for the honest and hard working, remained in critical condition in the ICU fighting for his life for 12 weeks. He fought long and hard, amazing many of the doctors and nurses who were caring for him. On April 26, 2024, Lawny’s body could no longer fight and he took his last breath.

It is going on 3 months that we were forced to say goodbye to Lawny, whose purpose in life was to protect, serve, and love his family with everything he had.

Last year, Lawny began working on a home that he and Laura designed together. This home was going to support their family, which now included Laura’s mother who had been diagnosed with dementia. As Laura became her mother’s full-time caregiver, she was unable to help Lawny with the building of their home. Lawny made every effort to work as diligently as possible to make this dream of their’s a reality until suddenly everything came to a horrific halt… later to be completely stripped away…
