Lay Eric Lee Alford to Rest with Dignity

I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Eric Lee Alford.

This GoFundMe page page is written by Eric's niece in dedication to my dear uncle, Eric Lee Alford, who received his final call on the morning of August 19, 2024, to come home from our Heavenly Father. May he R.I.P.

Eric was a very spontaneous soul. He was very athletic, showing off his skills on the school track and on the football field. He had a passion for wanting to make a difference and giving his all. Upon graduating from High Point Central High School, he attended Lincoln Nebraska State University in the early to mid-90s. In 1994, he (Eric #88) made the play leading the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a national championship over Colorado. He graduated with a degree in physical education and sports medicine. Eric went on to play with the New England Patriots. His NFL career was cut short due to declining health, which led to his early passing at the young age of 52. He was very well known throughout the community for staying positive and overcoming obstacles; however, there were many obstacles in the form of illnesses. One after another, he succumbed to these illnesses. Through his good days and bad up until the end, he made a difference.

Due to being in and out of the hospital over the last few years and his final months and untimely death, his life insurance lapsed, so we, the family, are launching this GoFundMe campaign asking from the heart for financial help to pay for his funeral arrangements. Any donations that are given will be greatly appreciated. Donations can be given directly to the funeral home, Johnson & Sons Funeral Services in High Point, NC, c/o Eric Lee Alford, or mailed to our highly respected and honorable cousin, Mrs. Lula Farabee.

Please, everyone, help us to lay our uncle, brother, and cousin to rest.
