Laying Skylar To Rest

Dear Community, I come to you today with a heavy heart, as we mourn the loss of Skylar Harrison, a black trans woman. It is with great sadness that we share the devastating news of her tragic passing. Skylar Harrison was found in Marvin Gaye Park, stripped of her clothing and holding her genitalia, by cleaning workers. The Harrison family is rightfully outraged and suspects foul play. We must come together as a community to support the Harrison family during this difficult time and help lay Skylar to rest. It is important to note that the DMV area has unfortunately been known for violence against black trans women of color. SkylarHarrison, who was not known to be in this area, has raised suspicions that she may have been dumped there by someone using the location to dispose of her body. This area is known for heavy foot traffic, particularly for survival sex workers, where we have tragically lost other individuals like Zoey Spears and Ashanti Carmen. I urge you all to contribute in any way you can, as no donation is too small or too big. Let us come together and share this message widely, as the Harrison family, like so many others, is in desperate need of our community's support for a proper burial and memorial service. Let us stand united and show our love, compassion, and solidarity during this heartbreaking time.
