Laying their Angel Kalyn Michael Ford to rest
Donation protected
It’s been a very eventful few months for my brother Kieran Ford and his wife Alexis.
They moved into their rental house on 28/10/22, after searching for months in what we know has been a high-demand market.
They got married one week later, on 05/11/22.
2 weeks later Kieran fractured his shoulder forcing him to stop work while waiting for surgery.
With Alexis being pregnant, on 06/12/22 at 25 weeks, her waters broke (called pre-PROM).
They were told the baby could come at any time from then.
A week after this, Alexis began to bleed, but the baby was still safe.
It was now nearly complete bed rest in hospital, she was however allowed to get up for small walks. She spent almost 6 weeks in the hospital with Kieran never leaving her side, as the baby could come at any moment.
During these 6 weeks Alexis contracted Covid-19 in the hospital, she was isolated in a hospital room, and not allowed to leave.
Then as the new year had just begun, On 15/01/23 she had severe pains, doctors came in, did a few checks, and realised the placenta was pulling away and she was rushed down for an emergency cat1 caesarean section.
Alexis gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Kalyn Michael Ford on 15/01/23 at 2:55 am
They are huge North QLD Cowboys fans and that’s where Kalyn Ponga started his rugby league career, so the name was fitting.
When he was born Kalyn’s heart was strong, but due to other medical issues, his heart that brought him into this world, unfortunately, couldn’t keep him here.
They made the heartbreaking decision to not let Kalyn suffer, and the machines were turned off.
Kalyn was put onto Alexis’s chest and passed away peacefully with Kieran by her side at 8:41 am the same morning.
Kieran and Alexis have had no income since Alexis was first admitted to the hospital.
They have had to pay rent and other bills, plus buying items for a nursery.
And now they must fund the funeral for their little angel Kalyn.
It’s going to be a tough road ahead of them to get back to some sort of normality, we just don’t want them to have to rush the grieving process.
They have shared their story, though they have no idea we are doing this for them.
Any donation would be a massive help in their time of need.
Thank you.
