Layla Kagan's Future Fund

After 16 months fighting beyond belief, we lost our friend Ross to cancer. He passed surrounded by his family in the comfort of his own home. You hear a lot in the way of cliches when people pass, especially the good ones, that they were wonderful humans, fighters, one-of-a-kind, and beloved. Ross was every one of these things and so very much more — a gentle, kind, unwavering, truly selfless, sweet, calming pillar of strength as a husband to Rachel, an over-the-heels-in-love-with-his-munchkin, loving-as-can-be dad to Layla, a caring, supportive, attentive and reliable friend to all of us. 

Before he passed, he asked his friends and family to promise him they'd help support Rachel and Layla in any way we possibly could during this tragic immediate time and beyond. One of the ways we're doing this is fundraising for 16-month-old Layla. We need to ensure that as the Kagans begin to emerge from their initial healing processes that there will be money for Layla to use for school, camp, and any future opportunities. It's all he ever wanted. That, and for there to be many more Patriots wins in the future.

We will never, ever be the same for having known Ross, for having gotten to witness him become the kind of father we always knew he would be. We will forever be grateful that we got to love and be loved by him. We know he can feel that love now.
