The brightest most beautiful star in the sky
It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we reach out to the greater community of which our friends and family live.
On Sunday the 9th of April our beautiful friends Lauren and Wes lost their most precious baby girl.
For anyone who met Layne, would always say that she is the happiest, smiley most relaxed and angelic baby girl. She was an absolute dream.
In lieu of flowers, we have set this up on their behalf as they would never ask for anything from anyone and would like to alleviate any financial stresses a time like this can bring.

Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts for being able to provide so much of your generosity and love as we all rally around Lauren, Wes and Wyatt. Please read below, a beautiful letter of reflection and thanks written by Lauren. Layne Kay forever 7 Months #living4layne
"As Wes and I sit here finally going through these photos trying to accept what is our new 'normal', we have reflected on all the love, kindness and generosity that we have received from literally hundreds and hundreds of people.
We have gone through every single name on the Go Fund Me page, all 321 of them. We have spoken about the acts of kindness we have received through cooking, washing, cleaning, looking after Wyatt, looking after our animals, offers of accommodation and even arriving home to more gifts.
We have appreciated every single message and phone call to check in on us and the thoughtful letters, gifts and flowers that have arrived in the mail.
The overwhelming support from our current and previous employers cannot be understated and we are forever grateful for their significant gestures of kindness.
It meant so much to us to have so many people turn out to support us at Laynes funeral and celebration of life, whether watching the service online or with us in person, some driving hours and others getting on flights to be there for us.
The kindness we received from companies who offered their services to help us give Layne the celebration of life she deserved was very touching.
Our obstetrician was there to support us at Layne’s farewell and then dedicated a recent event to honour her life.
Our daycare has shown their love and support by sprinkling some Layne magic throughout the centre.
Dad’s employer has named their most recent truck ‘Layne Kay’ as a tribute to our little princess.
We have been so overwhelmed and so touched by each and every gesture of love for us during this very difficult time. We have wanted to reach out individually to every single person and say thank you personally, but the exhaustion that comes with this grief makes it next to impossible to face this obstacle, so we are hoping that everyone who has helped us in any way sees this post and knows how appreciative we truly are to experience your love and support which has given us the strength to keep going.
Life is pretty hard now and nothing will ever bring our darling girl back, but knowing how unbelievably lucky we are to be supported by a village of so many wonderful people makes the dark days just a little bit lighter ✨
Please don’t hesitate to talk about our baby girl. Layne will always be with us and we don’t ever want her beautiful face and her precious life to be forgotten".
