Layton's Fight: A 16-year old's battle!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Casta, and I would like to introduce you to my 16year old cousin Layton who lives in South Africa and has been diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma – a rare form of aggressive cancer that requires equally aggressive treatment. Ewing’s Sarcoma occurs in boys between the ages of 10-20, and doctors have confirmed it as stage 4 Cancer.
The heavy news continued with results from a PET scan which revealed that cancer had metastasized to several locations, including on his spine, collar bone, hip, lymph nodes, leg, and lungs. Doctors suggest amputating his leg, where the most significant 14cm mass is found.
Layton’s mother, Michelle, will accompany him to various appointments, surgeries, and chemotherapy. It will be a long journey. As you can imagine, the average costs of everyday living…..such as a mortgage, food, gas, car, and medical expenses, can be astronomical. Layton has a young brother named Brogan, who is 9, and will also need Michele’s time, attention, and support.
Many people have asked how they can help or what they can do. With such a rigorous treatment plan, medical expenses will be a direct cost, and donations will go toward medical expenses/necessary treatment costs for Layton.
Michele is heartbroken; she’s fighting hard for Layton and appreciates all the prayers and emotional support from family and friends. Layton’s an incredible Boy, handling his diagnosis with remarkable strength and courage.
If you cannot donate, we are equally grateful for the positive energy, prayers and good thoughts sent their way. Michelle, Layton, and Brogan.
Thank you kindly
