Hey friends! By now you've probably seen the pictures and heard the news: the record cold snap in Texas has been devastating. Here's what we're doing to help...
1. Clean water - over the next few days, one of the biggest things Lazarus can do (in addition to making coffee, beer and tacos) is to provide clean, potable water for anyone who needs it. We've instructed our brewstaff to prioritize making water over beer until the local boil order is lifted. Just bring in a container, and we'll fill you up! This part is easy.
2. Food, shelter & basic repairs - Many of our friends and neighbors have apartments that are flooded, houses that are uninhabitable, landlords and apartment managers that are overwhelmed and unresponsive. Plumbers and tradesmen are booked for weeks. And many in the service industry are under-employed and don't have the resources to pay for repairs themselves. This part is going to be hard.
Lazarus is seeking to raise $50,000 to help provide food, water and repairs for people living in East Austin. All funds raised will go to help families in need and the local charitable organizations that specialize in disaster recovery. We need you to DONATE and to help us SPREAD THE WORD!
