L.Blackford Memorial Scholarship

Larry Blackford Jr. was a videographer, multimedia artist and avid drummer from Versailles, Ky, and lived and worked in Lexington, Ky.  He worked professionally in video production, videographer, and photography throughout central Kentucky for over a decade. In 2014 he started LB Productions where he created videos for weddings, businesses, events, groups, and whoever had a need.  He captured candied moments and turned them into personal tributes integrated with touching music.  His last job was working with Fayette County Public Schools in the Media Department as their Educational Media Tech. Larry had Bachelor’s Degree in Media Broadcasting from Eastern Kentucky University.  He went out of his way to show kindness and to assist others in need. Larry also had a lifelong love for drumming, and was known for his versatility and love of playing in many well-known bands and churches throughout Kentucky. Larry’s memory will live on through the lives he touched. The Larry G. Blackford Jr.  Memorial Scholarship is meant to embody his example of kindness and passion for lifelong learning.

Your donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to support the Larry G. Blackford Jr. Memorial Scholarship.  The Larry G. Blackford Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to two recipients for the amount of $1000.00 each.  The check will be payable to the educational institution of the recipient’s choice.  This scholarship is non-renewable.

This scholarship is open to any Woodford County resident and Fayette County resident who is a high school senior and planning on continuing his or her education in  Media or Music.  The applications are located in the Guidance Office at Woodford and Fayette CountyHigh Schools.  Friends of “Little Larry” Board of Advisers is made up of nine members.  All applications will be reviewed and approved by the Board.  The recipient will be notified the week of May 1st each year.
