Hello Friends!

Welcome to the TSP LALV 2024 fundraising page of the London Sole Sisters.

Brought together through our shared love of running, trails, and the great outdoors we are a team of Black women on a mission to change the perceptions of the ultra and extreme sports spaces.

Firm believers in age Aint Nothing but a Number to quote the legendary Aaliyah (RIEP) in this scenario it’s worth a mention. All the members of our courage crew range between the ages of 40 and 50. We are all active and, on a mission, to show that being active doesn’t have to stop at a certain age.

We have nothing but mad admiration for EVERYONE in this space no matter race, age, or speed though it must be acknowledged that there aren’t too many folks that look, and sound like us. We know the systemic challenges faced by Black women in this space first hand, rooted in historical disparities and societal prejudices. These challenges include limited representation, unequal access to resources and opportunities, as well as stereotypes that may hinder participation. We want to challenge and change that and whilst we all have our own unique personal reasons for wanting to do this madness, collectively that is our mission.

We couldn’t think of a more glorious challenge than The Speed Project to do this.

So, what happens once we’ve done it? Sure, that is great and good for us but what does that mean? Does it change anything? Well, there’s certainly a lot to be said for being “seen” as a way of inspiring others but we also have plans to make it a reality for another team from an underrepresented group and assist them in their quest to take part in the next race / challenge in the following year.

We already have incredible volunteers that have stepped up to the challenge and to make this happen we need our community’s support. Please donate if you are able to do so and share with anyone you know that might be willing to support the cause, we will be eternally grateful.
