Leah Beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Friend
Hello, my name is Bill Lehner.
I’m trying to ease some of the worry and strain from my beautiful nieces
On January 11, my family lost our Patriarch as my Father lost his battle to Alzheimer’s. This was extremely difficult. My wonderful sister provided a lot of care for my Dad.
On April 14th my sister complained of neck pain. She tried to self treat it. The next day after work Leah’s pain had increased. I took her to the Emergency room. She seemed a bit better, but it quickly became worse. The second time I took her to the Emergency room where she was treated for a neck sprain and released. The following day was a scary experience. I came over to my Mother’s home to discover Leah was in Septic Shock. I immediately called 911 and prayed the Ambulance would get there quickly. This would be the last time my Mother would see Leah.
On April 23rd Leah went into the ICU for Septic Shock. Due to Covid 19 pandemic there would be no visitors . I was the Emergency contact so the ICU would only give me updates once a day.
There was zero positive updates until the5th day when Leah came off the ventilator. Telling the difficult updates was extremely hurtful to me. My nieces were always my priority. They were the first to know anything . My sister had an Epidural Abscess on the top two vertebrae of her neck. Leah was transferred so she could receive care from a Specialist. They were treating my sister aggressively. Visitation opened up on May 8 and Leah could finally receive one visitor. I would forego visiting rights so this time could be spent with Leah’s daughter Maddie. I was able to finally see my sister on Sunday May 17, 2020 .
It was a true gift as Leah was happy to be going to a rehabilitation facility for recovery. I was very happy and relieved.
the following day Monday May 18th my sister had a heart attack and had to be revived.
Leah showed progress for three straight days. This was followed by two days of decline.
On Sunday May 24, 2020 at 8:35 pm my sister passed away.
My grieving nieces, Molly and Maddie McGhee, travelled to settle my sister’s home and make arrangements.
I am trying to provide some relief to my beautiful nieces that are already facing the agony of loosing their Mother.
Any and all donations will be given directly to Leah’s daughters.
Please help with this burden.
