Support for Leah Blanford
Donation protected
As many of you have heard, one of our school parents (and beloved teacher!), Mrs. Leah Blanford, has been diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoma. Leah recently received some good news – a well-known, experienced oncologist at UVA has agreed to take on Leah’s somewhat unique medical case.
Although Leah is in great spirits, there are financial needs that are weighing on her mind: for example, a high medical deductible and travel to/from UVA.
We have asked for $15,000 and realize that this is a lot of money. For those of you who know Leah, you can imagine that it was difficult for us to convince her to accept this help. Leah is always the first to offer support to her students, school families, friends and family members. This is the time for us to return to her the emotional, prayerful and financial support she has given others.
Although money does not solve everything, we hope this contribution will relieve some of the stress Leah is facing. We are thankful for any donation, no matter the size, and we are thankful for Leah– not only for the positive impact she has had on our children, but also for her willingness to accept this support.
Finally, we ask you to keep Leah and her fifth-grade daughter, Mary Frances, in your prayers.
