Help Leah Gaulton Fight Breast Cancer

Donation protected
A few months back we were on a short trip to celebrate our 17th anniversary to dream towards our future as a family and the recent launch of our ministry.

Little did we know on that trip Leah would find a concerning lump which would lead to doctors appointments, scans, and biopsy resulting in a diagnosis of Stage 2b Breast Cancer.

Our lives have completely shifted from that diagnosis and we could never have imagined our journey would take this turn but here we are. A 38 year old wife and mother of 2 young children (Joseph 8, Sarah 6) battling early onset Breast Cancer.

Cancer treatment has already begun with a heavy 5 month regiment of chemotherapy (AC/T), followed by surgery in January to remove the cancer and lymph nodes affected, radiation in the spring, and endocrine therapy that will last 5 years. The treatment plan looks to be a long and difficult road but doctors are hopeful that by the end of her treatment she can be cancer free. Right away we realized how difficult this sickness will be on many levels and we wouldn’t be able to walk this journey alone. We are so thankful for many who have already been praying, sent meals, supported us financially, helped our kids, and sent an encouraging messages.

All donations made through GoFundMe will go towards helping cover Leah’s medical costs and family support.

Medical Costs: with already more than 20+ doctor appointments and many more to come, procedures, port placement surgery, scans, tests, partial mastectomy surgery, radiation there are many co-payments, premiums, and out of pocket expenses (estimated $30,000 in the next year of treatment). One thing Leah really wanted to do is try and save her hair, so we opted for Leah to do cold cap therapy to help save her hair and help with regrowth (estimated $4000, not covered by insurance). Naturopathic Doctor that was referred to us by the UCI Health Team but is not covered by insurance ($500 initial visit, $300 per visit after, estimated 6 appointments). Personal/Medical supplies to use during treatments and recovery ($3000). Leah personal care support through her treatment (estimated $6000 for Counseling, Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy, Chiropractic, etc.)

Family Support: Help keep the Gaulton household running, donations will also be used to help support our family with Meals, House Cleaning, Childcare, etc. (estimated $5000)

You can donate through this GoFundMe page to support us personally. During Leah’s treatment David will continue the work of Jesus Use Me and Leah will take a step back but will work as her health permits. If you are interested in supporting David and Leah's ministry, Jesus Use Me Movement, through this difficult time, you can make a tax exempt donation at https://www.jesususeme.com/donate

We are humbled by the love and support of so many and are believing for Leah to be completely healed!! Thank you for joining us in this journey.

With love, the Gaulton Family (David, Leah, Joseph, and Sarah)
