Leah’s Spinal Cord Injury Recovery
Donation protected
As a lot of you know by now, Leah and I were hunting Sunday November 5th early in the morning. As she was climbing up the tree, she fell 15 ft to the ground from the top ladder. She was rushed to grant medical center and spent 3 days in the icu, and a week in the trauma unit. She has a burst fracture in her L2 vertebrae that almost severed her spinal cord completely. She went though a 7hr long major surgery on her back. They ran a rod from her T12 down to her L4 with screws to brace the crushed vertebrae. This injury did cause Paraplegia.
As of right now, she is able to move her right leg, and her left leg is still a work in progress.
She spent months at a rehabilitation center away from her family and her little girl. She will be unable to work for months, so I’m trying to help take some of the burden off her about paying her bills, including medical. On top of that our little girl has been bouncing from house to house ever since the accident.
You can also send anything directly to her venmo if that’s easier. @leahweiher
Even if your unable to donate anything, we ask that you maybe just send a prayer or two for her and her recovery.
Our entire family thanks each and every person that has sent love and thoughts our way. Never in a million years did I think anything like this would happen. She is loved by so very many and needs more and more support each and everyday. This is hard and it’s only going to get harder.
