Olá, estou criando esta campanha em nome do meu amigo Leandro e da sua esposa Marciane.

No dia 26 de março, Leandro foi ao urgent care com uma dor nas costas que não passava, ele estava com dores nas costas/pescoço há um ano, mas pensava que era relacionado aos músculos e nunca prestou muita atenção até na semana passada, quando a dor se tornou intensa.

Ao chegar, o urgent care informou que não poderia ajudar e que precisávamos ir ao pronto-socorro.

Ele decidiu esperar até o dia seguinte, então na quarta foi ao pronto-socorro e um RX revelou que ele estava com fratura na coluna.

Por mais assustador que fosse, era apenas o começo de uma situação muito vulnerável e difícil.

Leandro teve que ser imediatamente colocado em repouso e ser transferido de ambulância para o Hospital John Muir em Walnut Creek e após uma investigação mais aprofundada, um tumor foi encontrado em suas vértebras C4 e C5 e seus rins estavam funcionando apenas em 19%.

Duas cirurgias de emergência foram fortemente sugeridas, pois ele corria o risco de ficar paralisado a qualquer momento, pois o tumor estava corroendo sua coluna.

Rapidamente depois disso ele fez as duas cirurgias e felizmente conseguiram remover o tumor, no entanto depois de falar com um oncologista recebemos um diagnóstico assustador.

Leandro tem um tipo de câncer ósseo chamado Mieloma Múltiplo, que é comumente conhecido como câncer de medula óssea e as proteínas do tumor estavam causando a falência de seus rins.

Por enquanto o Leandro ainda está internado e após a alta iniciaremos um longo tratamento que durará anos.

Leandro e sua esposa Marciane são brasileiros e tem somente um ao outro nesse país, eles não têm família aqui para apoiá-los, então sua esposa precisará ajudá-lo e estar ao seu lado durante esse momento difícil.

Este também será um momento financeiro crucial para a família, pois Leandro era motorista e não poderá trabalhar durante pelo menos 6 meses devido ao uso de um colar cervical que deve estar colocado 24 horas por dia, 7 dias por semana.

Leandro passará por tratamento durante anos e anos, a primeira fase do tratamento será muito agressiva e debilitante.

A esposa de Leandros será a única provedora de sua família, mas também seu único sistema de apoio.

Durante os primeiros 6 meses ela irá ajudá-lo em cada consulta e em todas as necessidades básicas.

Ambos são imigrantes e moram nos Estados Unidos por 7 anos e meio. São pessoas trabalhadoras, no entanto, nenhum deles tem poupanças e não conseguiram trabalhar na última semana desde que foi admitido no hospital e precisa de ajuda para comer, beber, higiene e tudo mais.

Qualquer valor doado será muito apreciado e utilizado para todas as contas médicas que virão, bem como uma ajuda extra para apoiá-los financeiramente com despesas do dia a dia, já que Leandro não poderá trabalhar e às vezes Marciane também não.

Hi There, I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Leandro and his wife Marciane.

On March 26th Leandro went to urgent care with a back pain that was persistent and wouldn’t go away, he’s had a sore back/neck for the last year on and off but we thought it was muscle related and never paid too much attention until last week when the pain became severe.

Upon arriving, the urgent care informed him that they couldn’t help and we needed to go to the ER.

He decided to wait until the next day, so on Wednesday we went to the emergency room and an RX revealed that he had a fractured spine.

As scary as it was it was only the beginning of a very vulnerable and difficult situation.

Leandro had to be immediately put on bed rest and after being transferred by ambulance to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek and upon further investigation a tumor was found on his C4 and C5 vertebrae and his kidneys were only functioning at 19%.

Two emergency surgeries were strongly suggested as he had a risk of becoming paralyzed at any second giving that the tumor was eating away his spine.

Quickly after that he had both surgeries and thankfully they were able to remove the tumor, however after speaking to an oncologist we were given a scary diagnosis.

Leandro has a type of bone cancer called Multiple Myeloma, that is commonly know as bone marrow cancer and the proteins from the tumor were causing his kidneys to fail.

As of now Leandro’s still in the hospital and after he is discharged we will start a lengthy treatment that will go on for years.

Leandro and his wife Marciane are originally from Brazil and only have each other in the United States, they don’t have any family here to support them so his wife will need to help him and be there for him throughout this difficult time.

This will also be a crucial financial time for their family as Leandro used to be a driver and won’t be able to work for at least 6 months due to the use of a cervical colar that must be in place 24/7.

Leandro will undergo treatment for years and years, the first phase of the treatment will be very aggressive and debilitating.

Leandros’s wife will be the sole provider for their family but also his sole support system.

For the first 6 months she will be helping him with each appointment and all basic needs.

They are both immigrants and have both lived in the United Stated for the past 7 and half years and are hard working people however neither of them have any savings and haven’t been able to work for the last week since he has been admitted to the hospital and needs help to eat, drink, hygiene and everything else.

Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated and used towards the endless medical bills that will be coming their way as well as an extra help to support them financially with day to day expenses since Leandro will be unable to work and at times Marciane as well.
