Leanne Barker ~ Cholangiocarcinoma Warrior

Leanne was diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable Cholangiocarcinoma in November 2022. At just 39y, this brought many questions about this rare cancer seen in older folks. She advocated quickly and got further testing and treatment started. She underwent 5 months of intense chemo treatments and immunotherapy. Leanne is on her next series of chemo at the present time. The most recent scans showed great shrinkage of the tumor (referred to as "Gary") but she remains with 2 lesions in different lobes preventing surgery.

She is a part of Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation who raises money to find a cure and research this terrible disease. In addition they host a conference every April in Salt Lake City, Utah which she hopes to attend. Funds raised will go towards hotel, airline, conference costs, food, etc. for the trip.

Leanne also is a Cholangiocarcinoma mentor, providing education, support, encouragement, positivity and humor to others battling this disease.

Any additional funds raised will help towards continuing one of her treatment methods of massages. She has been doing standard massages every 6-8 weeks as well as myofascial release which has helped with areas of concern and reducing the pain or tension. These are usually every 2 weeks. With the combination, it can get costly but has help reduce pain and avoid some medications which Leanne is not a fan of.
