Leanne Hunter needs your support

Leanne needs your help.

Leanne was in a severe motorcycle accident on June 18th, and she was helicoptered to a San Jose Emergency Hospital. Her leg was broken in several places along with other critical physical injuries. She has had several small strokes because of the trauma. She may not leave hospital care for an extended period.

Her bones will heal, but the strokes have created a situation that is more complicated. She cannot see out of her left eye. She is confused. She has great difficulty speaking anything more than "I love you" and "yes" and "no". At the time of writing this, her section of the hospital has been put on covid lockdown, and she is not allowed to see visitors. She is frustrated and alone.

The strokes have severely affected her ability to speak, walk, write, read, draw, drive, and everything else that Leanne loves. She has also suffered seizures and the potential for further strokes is apparent.

Anything raised in this Gofundme will be dedicated to Leanne's recovery and support and directly available to her. We are working to find federal and state support for her as well. Housing and care for Leanne is going to be complicated for a long while. And we don't even yet know the extent of her medical costs. Rent, home modifications to accommodate wheelchair access, care for her dog Tuffy, exercise equipment for her mind and body, and any number of expenses related to Leanne's recovery will hopefully be funded by your donations.

Leanne has touched all of our lives in different ways. She is adventurous and fiercely independent. She loves nature and getting her hands dirty. She's vibrant, brave, artistic, and incredibly intelligent. It's painful to see someone with such power be so vulnerable and dramatically impaired. But she is a force. She will recover from this.
