Leath Family Medical Crisis

My best friend Kristi Leath & her family are in need of our help. Her husband Jason was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Digestive Tract, the day before his 52nd birthday. Jason’s tumor is about the size of a golf ball. It is pressing on the colon, prostate and bladder, but doctors are unsure where it originated from. He will be doing 33 radiation treatments and will go Monday-Friday. Radiation and chemo have started & it was confirmed that the seminal vesicle has been infiltrated by the tumor bringing his Stage 3 to a Stage 4b. Stage 4b is different as it isn’t involving any major/vital organs at this point. The Baylor board has decided to do another PET scan in 4 weeks to see how much progress has been made. If the tumor has shrunk significantly, they will more than likely continue with the chemo & radiation. If there has been little progress, they will then do an extensive surgery and he will resume chemo & radiation afterward. Jason is the main financial provider for his family & since his diagnosis he has been unable to work. Their lives have been turned upside down in the past several weeks & they need financial support.
