Dog Rescue Missions in Lebanon a True Challenge
Donation protected
I'm doing this campaign on behalf of someone that would like to remain anonymous. Miss S has been sheltering and rescuing dogs from rural places in Lebanon for more than 10 years, here's what she has to say:
"I rescue dogs from the brutal streets of Lebanon. Most of these dogs are starving. Many of them have medical problems, and suffer in silence. Others are rescued from abusive and/or neglectful owners.
The economic crisis in Lebanon has rapidly declined during the past few months and the Lebanese currency has lost about 80% of its value, if not more. Everyone is now poverty stricken, no one can afford to keep a pet, people are abandoning their pets, like trash, on the street, and it breaks my heart.
These dogs have been suffering, under the blistering heat, with no food or water. They are emaciated. To add to that, on August 4th, a massive explosion occurred in the heart of our capital Beirut, which left even more dogs injured and stranded, with no one to tend to...
My sole mission is to get these rescued dogs and fly them to the United States, to sanctuaries, and eventually, to find loving homes. I have been doing this, successfully, for the past 5 years, and out of my own savings. With the help of the wonderful tracy. All of this wouldn't have happened without this incredible woman. She’s been a God send through out the years that I've known her. Ive come to her time and time again with stray dogs , and she's never turned a blind eye. Im so blessed she continues to support me to this day, saving so many helpless animals. I sent her one email asking for help, and without hesitation, she jumped in to help. There are not enough words to thank this Wonderful lady with a heart of gold, she is changing lives.
Sadly, due to the dire economy in Lebanon, I can no longer afford to do that alone. I am now fostering 10 dogs in my apartment. The cost of feeding them alone, has become overwhelming. I am asking you for your kind donations, to help find these dogs new loving homes, that they deserve, in the United states. It will also help me rescue and tend to more injured animals. I appreciate your help and support in such difficult times. Thank you."
