Lebanon Disaster Relief. Please help now

Friends,
OUR LEBANON needs your HELP now more than ever before!
We have all seen countless of terrible images and videos of the destruction that happened in the port of Beirut, August 4th, 2020 due to the explosion that rocked a devastatingly large portion of the city, destroying hundreds of lives, leaving thousands injured and several hundred thousands of our fellow Lebanese homeless, and close to $15 billion in property damage.
To make matters even worse, the institutions that we have set up to help people who are injured, homeless and struggling due to the explosion have also been destroyed. Hospitals and food storage facilities have been obliterated. Hotel Dieu de France hospital alone took in over 700 wounded victims. Medical and healthcare teams are still working around the clock to ensure the recovery of all of these victims. Many University of Saint Joseph campuses around the area were heavily affected and suffered substantial damages estimated at more than 5 million US Dollars.
Due to this, thousands of families are now left with out basic human necessities like, shelter and food. Many of our fellow Lebanese men, woman and children are sleeping in the streets barely able to find meager amounts of food and can not even access any form of modern day medical care.
The burden of this terrible tragedy is amplified by the worst economic crisis Lebanon has ever seen. With an already crippled medical and social system strained by the overwhelming amount of people struggling to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have received many messages from the Lebanese Diaspora and our friends in the USA asking “how can we help”? We are so grateful for these messages and have initiated a fundraiser, the Saint-Joseph University (USJ) Foundation Emergency Funds. Your donation will be used to:
•Support the wounded and displaced, providing psychological support, shelter and house repairs
•Provide essential food supplies for families in need
•Support Hotel-Dieu de France Hospital, which is currently treating hundreds of injured from the blast
• Provide scholarships to students in need and restore the USJ University Campus to make it a safe place to seek higher education
Thank you for your help! Thank you for helping families, institutions and a country with desperate needs. Thank you for giving the Lebanese people the gift of SOLIDARITY and HOPE they so desperately need! All Donations are 100% tax deductible.
We will not succumb to desolation
We will stand together
