Help Lee Ann Heal and Get Back on Her Feet

On September 29, 2023, our beloved Lee Ann Gilliland embarked on a life-changing journey. What started as a seemingly innocuous headache led to a terrifying discovery. After multiple CT scans, doctors found a massive tumor in her right frontal lobe that had already shifted the midline of her brain by a staggering 12mm. Lee Ann's story took a sudden turn, and her resilience shone through as she underwent emergency surgery to remove a meningioma the size of a large grapefruit, which had likely been growing unnoticed for over a decade.

The Road to Recovery:

While the surgery was a success, Lee Ann's path to a full recovery has just begun. She is an integral part of our community, co-owning and operating a local home-watch business with her husband, Tim. Unfortunately, due to her condition, Tim will need to hire additional help for their business, leading to unexpected financial burdens. Approximately half of their income is now allocated to this temporary assistance, affecting their livelihood. Furthermore, their insurance provides only limited coverage, with an out-of-pocket maximum of around $10,000, leaving substantial medical expenses uncovered.

On top of these challenges, Lee Ann and Tim have family pets that require care and attention. With Lee Ann unable to be around them during her recovery, this responsibility adds to the stress on Tim, who is already juggling the demands of the business and home. Additionally, there is a need for physical therapy and at-home care, as well as the routine expenses of daily life, such as the mortgage, car payments, and groceries.
