Lee Ferrington Medical / Surgery Expenses

Lots of friends and family from Louisiana, know Lee Ferrington as a lead guitar player and vocalist from several bands including Tommy T Scott, Stormy, Floyd Brown, Ampersand, including his own band and several other well known bands in our local Baton Rouge area.
He is a native of Baker, LA. However, he has lived in Central for the past 20 years.
Pictured with him is his 13 year old son Nicholas “Nick” Ferrington. Nick will be starting 8th grade at Central Middle School.
In February of this year, he went to his Dr. for common asthma symptoms ... he just couldn’t breathe.
However, after his condition and symptoms did not improve, he was referred to numerous doctors ( Cardiologist, Pulmonologist Neurologist) and now back to the Pulmonologist. During the last few months he has under gone several tests and scans.
As of a test that was completed Friday, he has been diagnosed with damage to his right phrenic nerve. The damage to this nerve has paralyzed the right side of his diaphragm. In turn, he only has use of his left lung. His right lung does not work at all.
However, after much internet research, there is a dr in the United States that performs a phrenic nerve repair surgery located at UCLA medical. He also has a procedure that is comparable to a pacemaker for the heart but is used for the diaphragm.
We will have more information in the next week as to if it’s related to a specific neurological muscle disease.
