Lee Kopman Fund
Spende geschützt
Lee Kopman has dedicated his life to western square dancing. The author of more calls than anyone else in square dance history, a promoter of square dancing on television, attendee of numerous conventions and dances world wide; now endures some health challenges. Lee has been hospitalized for more than four weeks.
There are several treatment options and the Kopman family will soon make a decision on what is best. One such treatment may include a lengthy surgery. Lee is a real fighter and according to Steve he has a positive attitude and is in good spirits.
The Kopman family has contributed so much to western square dancing. It is now our turn to contribute to this fund to help cover medical expenses, family travel costs, medications, and the ongoing physical therapy that will follow.
WAIT!! AS OF 10 PM, AUGUST 29 A MESSAGE FROM STEVE KOPMAN:
I just spoke to my folks and apparently there was a misunderstanding on the appropriation of funds for the LK go fund me account. They don’t want ANY of the money to go to them for expenses. They want it ALL to go for scholarships for Callerlab and callers schools. Are either of you surprised by their actions?
Their dream would be for callers that can’t afford to attend a Callerlab convention to have a scholarship if they meet certain criteria that you feel would be appropriate. And if there’s enough money collected to have some go to help callers attend callers schools that would be great. We’d hope there would be enough contributions to last for many years to come.
____
No matter what your faith, please pray for Lee, his loving wife Lilith, Steve, and Phyllis.
I cannot help but wonder what western square dancing would have been if Lee Kopman was never part of it? I am glad that we will never know the answer. Let us show Lee how much we appreciate him.
We have strength in numbers. Let us get Lee well so he can return home with Lilith.
